Default H22a-T in 5th gen Questions

I was just wondering about some stuff for my setup that i am planning.

Has anyone ran into intercooler piping issues on their turbo accords? i have the factory bumper, any clearance issues to be worried about?

Also what size (dimensions) intercoolers do you run, i'lll be looking for an intercooler that supports approximately 400 hp.

I've heard of H22a's using stock cams in the very high boost range, is this possible with stock cams or is it only possible with stock cams that are modified? I was thinking of getting the skunk2 stage 2's but the price is pretty damn steep...

Thanks

Skunk2 stage 2's ? I would think they have too much overlap for a boosted application. Look for some good boost cams.

Yes by far they are a NA cam.. id go with some FI regrinds or go with some Turbo Cams.. check out http://www.ef-1.com if anyone can do the regrind and make them better then what you ll ever expect its Rocket over there, only down fall would be the wait right now

as far as the IC piping, thats not a problem, the motor sits almost the same as the F22, so the piping would be routed like every other accord with turbo:

Drag FMIC might work up to your HP, if not, go with a jdm version or a Spearco core

if you guys want to boost big and run big FMIC's your going to have to do a little dirty work and cut your bumpers a tad

Thanks for the info guys, appreciate it.

I'm a newb when it comes to building motors, but i'll check out skunk2 turbo cams and others this comming week. My main concern is my idle when it comes to daily driving on low boost, which is why i figured stage 2 will be much better for a mild setup than straight turbo cams.

a Tyrus FMIC would be good for your Accord like mine. Thye amke them slender for our bumper supports. But KTeller might have some good hookups.

I'll contact skunk2 today and ask about that. I was thinking of going with the venom or str manifolds though, any of you guys have an experience with them?

As for best junkyard down south - I haven't found anything really decent in the Broward County area... most junkyards either already have everything even remotely useable stripped or have crap pre-90's cars.

I had the Venon for my h22, it was a nice idea and item, but it sold around 475-525, i dont think that it was the best thing for the $$, plus you lost all secondary runners and IAB's... so i would of went from P13/P72 to a P28 ecu..

if anything, a turbo cam will give you a much better idle than a stage 2 cam would...it's the crazy profiled N/A cams that give you a shitty idle...just thought you should know that before you regret getting stage 2 cams instead of a turbo cam...

I've had luck with stage 2's on a NA car. A fuel computer will help your idle as will raising it a couple hundred rpm.

It would be stupid to use a NA cam on a turbo'd motor.

Welp i called Skunk2 today... "turbo cams still under development, same for the manifold" I'm gonna make a post in the Prelude section, and i'll ask the question here...

What success stories have u had with turbo cams in H22a's? Anything to stay away from, anything u recommend? Specs if u had your stock ones redone?
