b18b in my EG. was given an automatic lower engine mount on the passenger's side.
never had a problem with the mount but, my energy motor mount will not fit in that mount. so, i purchased a manual passenger's side lower engine mount. the insert fits and everything but, the mount doesn't fit flush on the chassis because of a hump on the chassis and a hump on the mount.
so, my question is, will i have problems just bolting on the mount without having it sit flush on the chassis? or should i just keep the auto mount and ditch the energy motor mounts? thanks in adv.

it is an integra manual transmission lower passenger mount. that is the mount that i'm having trouble with.
..... the insert fits and everything but, the mount doesn't fit flush on the chassis because of a hump on the chassis and a hump on the mount.
There should be a slight "HUMP" from either the Civic or Teg's mount line it up with a long tapping tool and mount your Bolts in..... Unless of course this "HUMP" is over 1" tall then you've got some problem there.
I know exactly which mount you are talking about.
Every integra one I have seen had a dip and not a hump. All of the SOHC
mounts I have seen have that hump you describe.

I'm in the middle of putting a b18c5 in a g5 Civic and ran into this problem as well. The problem I ran into is that the Civic front mounts look like a U, but the Integra front mounts look like a closed U. There is a little plate attached to the Civic frame which fits into the top of the U mount. We had to remove the little plate from the frame using an air chisel to make the Integra mount fit. I have pictures of it, but they're still on the video camera at the shop. I should have them in about a week, so let me know if this is the problem you're talking about.

yeah, that is the problem i'm talking about spicey rice. don't know what everyone else is talking about. i bought the mount from an acura dealer. and the last time i checked, there aren't any SOHC integras that are made.
spicey rice: how long did it take for you to chisel this part off? and does it weaken the structure of the chassis?
thanks.

It took about 10 seconds to chisel off, but that was with professional air tools. I imagine it'll be a PITA with a traditional hammer/chisel.
The little plate is attached via two spot welds to the frame. Removing the plate won't hurt the integrity of your frame at all. I can tell you that when he removed the plates, we remarked at how easy the right tools can make a job, so you might want to drop by a mechanic shop and see if they'll air chisel off the plates for a few bucks. You could prolly dirve a short distance without the two front 'torque' mounts attached and not do any damage (be easy on the car, short shift, if you do this).
I've noticed that the hybrid information out there is pretty weak. We've been video taping the whole job and plan to put together a real 'how to' document when we're done. Anyway, hope this helps, lemme know if you have any other questions... good luck. -Ewan

got that hump off from the passenger's side with a chisel and hammer. it took me about 45-60 mins to get that ************ off. had an air chisel as well but the leak in the air compressor didn't help much.
yeah, your how to for a hybrid would be very helpful for others who are getting into this. other forums i've seen with an engine swap how to, are vague and not once have i seen this problem mentioned in the how to swaps.
but thanks again
