Default Switching to manual transmission w/ turbo in mind. B18B1 or B18C5? (did search)

I currently have an Auto LS transmission, but i'm switching over to manual transmission. Should I get a type-r or stick w/ an LS manual transmission? I know that the type-r has better gear ratios, but i heard that the LS is better for a turbo application since the longer gears allow for longer spooling. I have, however, heard contradictory information as well. Can anyone set this straight? Help is appreciated

your going to get a million diff opininos on this like always. I say go for whatever one you can get for cheapest. The best thing about the R tranny is the factory LSD. I'd get a b16 cuz i have a feeling its the cheapest, but I always like to do everything with the least amount of $$ necessary
