Default CEL Code 15 Help!

Well my bone stock 88 DX (DPFI D15B) is now throwing a code 15 which is ignition output signal.
What exactly is not working? How do I check and if necessary replace the part(s)?

code 15 is your coil/ ignitor. it lives in the distributor and it should be a big black plastic box. Did this problem just start or did you change something/ work on the car? a new coil is like $100 from kragen. i think you could find a whole distributor from a D15 for like $50 since so many people swap em for mpfi or new engines.

check your connections there should be two screws connecting 2 wires to 2 terminals. make sure they are tight.

Sounds like your ignitor is headed south for the winter. Download a helms manual(search this forum for the link) and run through the troubleshooting flow-chart. If I remember right it can be 1 of three things, bad wire/connection, bad ignitor, or a bad ecu...

HTH

Have you tried resetting the ecu? I have thrown this code with both the d15 and b16, resetting the ecu got rid of the code every time.
