Del Sol Audio Setup
Well i'm going to be working on and installing my system all this week. What i'm going to be doing is replacing the door speakers, adding speakers in the rear, adding a new head unit, and running the wires for my sub to the trunk. I'm getting a Panasonic MXE CQ-DFX983U head unit, don't know if any of you are familiar with it or not. For the door speakers, I'm getting some Pioneer 6.5" 2 way coaxials, I chose them becaue they sound pretty good and don't require any modification to the stock mount. For the rear, I have a pair of Infinity Kappa 6.5" 2 way coaxials. Were mounting them to the actual paneling right behind the grill. Then I have a Elemental Designs E12k sub that i'm pushing 500 watts to with a Hifonics Brutus 1000 watt rms mono amplifier. I'm not going to be installing the sub until I get everything good with the speakers and head unit, what do you guys think? Any changes or possible problems u can think of? Any suggestions or advice?
Yo, if you havent gotten the stuff yet, I would make one suggestion, stick with one brand. The same stuff is always more compatible. I for one am using all Kenwood Excelon stuff in my car. If you wanted some place to put the sub, in the spare tire compartment always seems good, if u want to lose storing that tire.... as for wiring, del sols = not a part of my life, so I cannot help you there.
put the subs right behind ur seats above those boxes in the back...or jus take them completely out...ive seen it done on a couple of sols, looks damn nice
My advice is to ditch your rear speakers, and storage compartment. Make or have a fiberglass box built behind the seats, you will gain the best sound quality this way. If you stick a sub back there, your rear deck speakers will cancel the sub somewhat. Here is a pic of the first box I made for my sol,

I am in the process of building a new one though.
