removed transmission drain plug - and threads on tranny came out with it???
i hate my tranny - and i think it hates me more.
today, i was gonna change the fluid. i jacked the car up, and started to remove the drain plug: i cracked the bolt, and loosened it the rest of the way by hand. the bolt hit the ground, and all the fluid poured out.
after the fluid finished draining, i picked up the drain plug off the ground, and noticed that it's threads were filled with aluminium from the transmission's casing!!! wtf???
has anyone else had this happen to them?? why?????? talked to a honda-tech
and he said that if the last person to change the fluid overtighetened the bolt, it may have stripped the casing's threads.
argh
what should i do? re-tap it, get another casing, or...
get a new tranny?

yeah sounds like the person who changed the fluid before you could have cross threaded the drain plug.. re-tap sounds like a good plan...worth a try before you start removing the tranny to replace the housing etc..

yep. ruined my weekend. talked to someone else, and he said that it was might have been a threaded insert that ripped out. so, someone stripped it before, then fixed it but did a shitty job.
are cx/dx/lx tranny casings the same as ex? if so, i might be interested in getting one for cheap and swapping the casing. pm me if you have one, or just the casing lying around.
