Ive heard hondabond is made by the same company that makes ultra grey. I have always used ultra grey and ultra black on all of my projects. Works just the same. You can get the stuff from any auto parts store too for about 6 bucks a tube.

Hondabond is like 12 bucks from the dealer but and gasket sealer will do the trick as long as its felxiable.

I've heard, that permatex™ and Hondabond™ are the same exact thing but I've compared them and they are slightly different in colors so I doubt that they are manufactured by the same co. Each work well. I like Hondabond™, but Permatex ultra gray works just as well. HB = $12-16 a tube, Ptex = 4.99-6.99 a tube.

Correct. Just spend the $3 or $4 on the Ultra Grey sealant (grey color) and use that... same **** as buying Hondabond from the dealership, only at a fraction of the price.

Hondabond and UltraGrey are different.......

Hondabond cleans up easy with Autozone carb cleaner, Tolulene based.
Ultragrey is unaffected by the carb cleaner.

I use the Ultragrey on all the tranny I rebuild, never a leak.

Are you talking about Yamabond (what Yamaha sells)? I just use ultragray (aka #999). I like honda and all, but I ain't payin' the H premium for their oils/sealants.

I use Permatex Ultra Copper or Permatex The Right Stuff.

The right stuff is more adhesive and works for oilpan gaskets and other items where you need to make a liquid gasket.

not really, it is advised to put it on the corners of the caps. if you put it on the seal, it will pop out. i put them in with grease on the lip, and dry on the outside.
