trouble starting car when...
it is cold as **** outside. What could be the problem. Jdm r motor, stock except icebox and kenji p28. I'm thinking it has something to do with the ecu not being used to the sudden cold, because when it's not so cold (afternoon) it's not hard to start.
maybe your battery? my car cranks for a while sometimes when its cold and under 1/4 tank of gas so i replaced fuel pump and it helped out a little. hope you find a fix. later
thanks, i'll check. It will start up, search for an idle for a while, then sometimes it finds it, sometimes it dies. Once it's starts to warm upo, it's fine. Same thing also hapens after I get gas.
I find that if I try to start the car right away it takes a little while, but if i turn the key and let the fuel pump run for a few seconds, the car starts up right away.
I'm not too sure but on Kenji's ecu, if you don't disconnect the purge solenoid near the firewall.....it will be hard starting; let me know also if anyone has better input, there was a discussion a while back but i can't even remember what I did yesterday

batteries turn to **** when its cold outside. during this time of year, especially in our area, the #1 thing to come into our shop is a "car does not start" or "does not start right away" complaint.
