Default car wont start....Very cold start

First off its 0 degree's here -11 windchill. and i went to start my car and it would try to start but the motor shook violently when it fired up for a second then immediately died. i tried giving it a lil bit of gas but still does work. is this common on a cold start? sounds like the car is running on 2 cylinders. just recieved a full tune up after thanksgiving weekend. Plugs, wires, rotor, fuel filter, seafoamed, ect.

DON'T PUMP THE GAS with fuel injection this will just dump fuel into the cylinders flooding the engine.

First of all -11 with windchill isn't very cold at all quite normal for Canada and my 94 civic has no problem starting. if you have a block heater hook that up but im assuming you dont since you wouldve already done that before posting this here. Is you gas tank more than 3/4 empty it may be possible for you to have frozen fuel lines althought unlikely since its not really that cold my guess would be something with the battery they're always the first thing to screw up in the cold thats why i carry an battery blanket with me.

pull your battery and run it to a autoparts store to check it out...you might have a bad cell or something similiar...if that's not it, have them check the voltage across the battery while it's in to see if it's the alternator

Not sure dude, maybe your oil is getting too thick? I know during winter your supposed to use a lighter weight oil so it wont get any thicker than it already is. Ive never dealt with anything like this, and its the best guess my tired mind can come up with.

mine takes a lot of cranking to get it to start, but i think it is just the battery. I would get that checked out, that is probably the problem.

Do you have any codes? You can have a code and it might not throw the light. I actually just had almost the same problem with my old nissan sentra...it ended up being the coolant temp sensor. It was basically always sending a "warm engine" message to the computer, so it didn't kick in the fast idle for cold starts. There was a code for it but it didn't throw a light. I replaced it and everything works fine now...runs like a champ. Just an idea.

I would suggest check smacking the crap out of the start as well as checking your plugs, wires, and distributor. Even pull the fuel pressure regulator and make sure fuel is coming through.
