Opinions on mild power adders
Hey guys, I tried a search and didn't really get any useful info. I'm going to start autocrossing (is that correct?) this upcoming season in March I believe. My friend got me really into it. I have a '95 civic EX coupe 5-speed with 113k on the clock and 16x7 wheels with toyo proxes so far. I'm working on the suspension and brakes next i.e. springs and shocks, rear sway bar, tie bars, front and rear brakes. I want a little more power, not a lot because I'm just practicing right now, so I wanted to just get an AEM cold air intake, headers, and cat-back exhaust. Maybe a few other mild bolt on power adders along the way, too. Maybe like bigger fuel injectors or something. My question is should I just not even worry about these bolt ons while I'm practicing or would it be a good idea in your opinion? The reason why I ask is because I'm planning to swap the engine out to a B18C1, but this wont be for at least a year and a half. Thanks guys.
Don't bother with the bolt ons learn to drive your car the way it is......If your doing a swap HELLO SM..........You'll need all the money you can save to be competitive there.
you've got an awful lot of plans and no experience.
backtrack... dont do anything, spend the money on learning how to drive and seat time. That is, if you actually want to learn how to autocross well.
Or instead, take all the money you plan on spending on the car, put it in a savings/money market account, and buy something more entertaining than a civic in a year or so.
