nitrous on the lil d16
what do i need to upgrade to run a 100 shot and bigger, the thing is, dont tell me you cant, cause i got ***** and i will.. but i just wunna go ahead and ask you guys, cause even though blowing **** up is fun, i want it to make a fwe trips to the track!
Thats the spirit. If I were you, I would search for posts created by mista bone. He has had much experience with d series engines and nitrous. Good luck.

But if something goes wrong, and you break it, a 1000 bucks or more is alot more expensive than what you'd spend on a d15/16.

I wouldn't run anything over a 55 shot in a d-series. You can try a 75 and retard the timing all to hell. To run anything higher you will need forged internals and head bolts, bigger injectors, and an ignition that will automatically retard the timing like the MSD digital. If you are just curious and have nothing better to do than rebuild motors, you can run the 100 about 4 times before it blows all to hell...maybe. Good luck though.
that is why i was saying to do a b series swap. With the money to put into building up the d series, you could have swapped in a b series. Why would you want to worry about your engine blowing with a 100 shot on a "built" d series, when you can run a 75 on a b series and be safter and faster? In the long run, the b series swap is going to be your fastest and best bet.

my theory on nitrous and honda: d series - 55 or smaller; b series - no more than 100
This is for stock to minorly modded motors (I/H/E). But remember, this is just my theory. You can go any direction you want, wether it is D or B. I would just rather have the B.

If you are running a 70 shot on stock timing in a d-series I would call you lucky! I'm glad it's working for ya though!
70-75 calls for 4 degrees retard to be safe. Your plugs are helping a lot though I'm sure.
You guys should ask skunk2whore about his 260 shot direct port on his Si! He had the same attitude as nitrouspete. It lasted like 3 times.

I look at it like this, if I were going to get a swap pretty quickly, I wouldn't mind taking the car to the track and throwing a large shot at it. It would suck if it blew up, but I think that it can be done.
I am glad we have people so wanting to swap from D to B. That leaves more D parts for me.
I have personally run a 75 on a stock D motor. retarded timing 1 degree. No problems ever. I would beat B16s with I/H/E.
Retard timing 2 degrees from stock, upgrade fuel system, injectors, and should be safe for a 100 for a while. That is until you can go in and build the block.

to run a 100 shot...you will need to re-enforce your internals(pistons, rods & valve springs) w/ a 2 degree ignition retard and a two step colder spark plug.
Try a 55 shot first...see how your engine handles it.
I always recommend getting an automatic bottle warmer w/a safety pressure valve. You'll be suprised how well it does compared to a 75 shot without a bottle warmer.

ok gents, here is the real deal, not speculation, not what I saw my buddy do, not what I saw at the track, this is my personal experience. I spray 125 on a for all intensive purposes stock D series. It has 60K on it now and sprayed 100 till 45K, and then when I started seeing bearings on my magnetic drain plug, I moved up to 125, because I was sure it was gonna let go. Let's be clear though, I DO NOT spray 125 on a daily basis, it's a once in a while kinda thing.
Here's the set-up
00 D16
Iceman
BKR7E's
14 degrees of timing
most importantly....
106 octane AV-gas
I tend to believe that it's the high octane and relaxed timing that let me spray that big, but also, it's that I also have a 2000 USDM B18c5 ready to drop in, in case I knock the bottom end out of it.
any questions?

no qestions, your the man, and for all the ******(JK) saying "i would only spray a 50, and thats pushing it" can go to hell(JK)
next friday.. i will be spraying the 100, wish me luck

only way to use a NX kit is direct port 4 fogger style.
Try to use a NX single fogger on a honda, going more than 50 shot = KABOOM.
The stock injectors will BARELY handle 75 shot even with a upgraded fuel pump.
If you want 100-125 shot dry, you need either Hondata and 440 injectors or 30# Ford injectors.

u wanna run a 100 shot on a stock d and don't know how to retard your timing?!
U get 2 hammers for having ballz

mista bone, its a wet kit! im sorry i have a 5.0 im used to working on it, i dont know a whole whole lot about hondas, yet. so, again i ask, how do you mess with the timing?
why dont u compression test your current bottom end first. if it comes back shitty then u might not last on even a 50 shot. do that, buy fuel system upgrades and an adjustable camgear. when u got that setup goin pick up another d16 block cause they are cheap and build the hell outta it with forged internals- then drop that shizzy in there and spray till your hearts content
