Reverse lights staying on..Why?
I have a 92 Hatch Si and I just realized last night as I was dropping my friend off at her house that my reverse lights were on. I was in neutral and they were still on. Even when I put it in first and take off....They are still on. Does anyone know what it could be?? Thanks
I forgot more about hondas then you will ever know....

probably a bad reverse light switch in your tranny. the switch just unbolts. easy fix.
mine does the same thing.... i tried unplugging the switch to see if it would turn off, but still it stayted on. or does it work in reverse....where the switch has to be functioning porperly to turn the rear lights off.....
how much do these switches go for?

Well me and my friend took the tranny off to change out the clutch but that's about it, and the tail lights aren't on all the time...Only when I turn them on.

first off, nake sure the switch is plugged in.
I've never seen a reverse switch go bad, usually just the wiring ripped apart when a tranny swap is done.
IF it does prove to be faulty, I have plenty, $5 to cover shipping.

i was just looking at mine the other day and i'm guessing its the one thats connected to the actual tranny. 3rd pic. but i'm not sure. I couldn't figure out how to get it off haha. If you figure it out 92civic si...let me know. and if I figure it out I will let you know.
yeah its the third pic.
stick it in reverse, take it outta reverse, and while the lights are on, trace the wires back from that switch to the two bullet connectors, and unplug it, one wire at a time. Goes out? Bad switch. you can take the switch out with a 19 mm wrench.
