if i put a gsr block on a b16.....
would it consider a GSR now, since it got the b18c block and still have the vtec head??, i have a 99b16, and i want to do a block swap, change the b16 block to a b18c, would it work and how would it run??? i heard that it will bolt right up and would run much faster then a regular gsr, and i also i heard that its not safe to do it for some reasons, sorry for being so a newbie on this, im kinda confuesd, can someome please help me on this!!! thanks
my buddy's got a b18c block with b16 head in his 00 civic si....the cam timing is a bit off cuz of the mismatched head and block, but he has ctr pistons, and it definitely pulls very strong...go for it.
i heard something about the piston and the valve hitting eachother or something, im not sure but something got to do with piston and valve, that they wont work together??? on the gsr block and b16 head....
aka poor mans type r. Polish the head and use some type r cams and pistons and you basically have a type r engine. But if your just slapping on a b16 head, you'll basically have the same output as a stock gsr engine. Torque will be the most noticable difference between the 2 blocks.
