where to buy nokian tires? how much?
the R is getting true winter tires this year
can anyone tell how much the nokian non-studded hakka tires generally go for? i see from the nokian website that sts is now carrying the tires, but i'm expecting there is better pricing available online.
i'm looking into the nokians and the arctic alpins which tirerack now has a special - $73/each.

When I searched for mine, I had to go through the Nokian site and track down the distributors and sellers. Not a lot of big name stores carry Nokian here locally.

haha, no they are made in finland. many R owners used to have them and touted them to be the best snow tires available.

Nokian makes a lot of different tires, everything from winter tires to all-season tires and summer high-performance tires. You need to specify which model you're talking about.
Now that winter tire technology has developed and the market has become more competitive, I have a feeling that they're not all that different from the best winter tires (like the Blizzaks) that are widely available from the Tire Rack and elsewhere. Just my O.

hakkapellita Q - nokian snowies, non studdable
i just called sts, 195/55/15 is $99.
nsxtasy, in your opinion it doesn't make sense to pay $99/each for the nokians when i could order michelin arctic alpins for $73/each (after $10 rebate) from tirerack?

I wouldn't say it "doesn't make sense". I haven't tried the Nokians, so I can't compare from experience. I've tried the Arctic Alpins and the Blizzaks (the MZ-02) and they are both excellent on snow and ince. I would get the Arctic Alpins myself. Oh wait, I already did.
You might ask the Tire Rack; they are probably familiar with the Nokians, even though they don't sell them. Although they're not exactly unbiased, they can give you an idea of how they compare. Let us know what they say.
