Default late model Civic suspension questions

Before i start, you should know i'm not into performance and all that. My only concern with my car is that it is reliable with good milage and has comfort and certain features. A stock Civic is fine for me except for one thing.........NOISE.

That said, i own a stock 2001 LX coupe. But i'm dissatisfied with the rather high road noise. My old '92 was considerably quieter. I have tried different tires and i know thats not the problem. What i believe it is is the suspension. I am considering getting a new EX, but i'm afraid the same problem will exist because according to the specs in the catalog, the suspension is the same.

I could have sworn when i bought mine the specs showed a different suspension for the EX compared to the LX back in '01. So my questions are as follows.....

1]-the salesman i spoke with today said the suspension on the LX and EX was the same even back in 2001. Is this true?

2]-will i be able to reduce the noise with aftermarket suspension, and if so do i need to focus on the front, back, or both

3]- what brands, models, and suspension parts will do the job.

4]-what kind of cost am i looking at, and how big of an improvement can i expect.

I may still get a new EX, but whether i do that or keep my 2001 LX i really want to quiet it down a lot. If i can't i may spring for an Accord, tho i really don't want to spend that kind of money because besides the quieter ride, the Accord won't give me anything i personally care about.
Thanks in advance.

Honestly if you are worried about the noise, just swap over to the accord or add a bunch of sound deadening stuff to your current car. My suspension squeeks and its OEM and I have a ton of other noisy stuff in the car as well.

Road noise. And it's not the tires.

I would tend to agree with that statement, maybe not an Accord specifically, but something else with less road noise. I have not been in a single Civic that did not have quite a bit of road noise, stock or otherwise. As far as aftermarket suspension, most of the stuff people would be dealing with here, is going to make suspension stiffer and probably louder. I am a bit surprised that the newer generation of Civics would be that noisy as well, I guess I just assumed that was something they addressed in 2001.

Maybe airbag suspension would help?
