b16 trans wont go into gear. help.
ok, so ive had my b16 runnning for a week, no problems what so ever. on my way home from work today, i noticed a sqeel type sound comming from the trans. this happend as i took it out of gear to slow down for traffic. i went to put it into 4th gear and noticed it wouldnt let me. i tried all the gears...nothing. so i merged to the off ramp and went to a gas station. checked all the lines, cluth engages and disengages fine, theres pressure in the pedal...
i thought it was the syncros, but i shifted through the gears just fine when the motor was off.
i started it again and went to put it into gear and it went in (with effort) now its making the sqeel noise when the clutch pedal is down all the way. so i began to drive home, it felt perfect after the intial first gear out of the gas station.
i get home, turn it off. start it again.....i cant shift into gear. fu*K! so im thinking its the throw out bearing is off or slipped some how...
so if anyone knows what this might be. help me out. im stuck, im about to take off the trans in a bit, but wanted to know what i should look for...thanks.
by the way, would shift linkage affect something like this? because the jdm shift linkage i was sent with the motor was for a RHD sol and it tilts to the right for some reason...

sounds like it is the throwout bearing or maybe the clutch fork. it wont go into gear because it isnt disengaging. pull the tranny, and check the clutch assembly.
got the trans off.
the pressure plate, clutch, flywheel seem to be fine. no harsh damage on the fin looking things on the pressure plate.
so im guessing its the throw out bearing, or clutch fork.....im dreading the thought of it being internal gear box.
