Default Check out my 1/4 mile time! SOHC VTEC!!!

prolly should be in the drag racing forum but i want to share it with some of you in this forum.

10/29/03
Sacramento Raceway Park
My Best time was 15.738
60ft.-2.274
E.T.-15.738
MPH-85.729

del Sol Si
Milage:155,555 and still running strong
Homemade CAI
DC-Sports 4-2-1 header
GSR Throttle body
Open Header
removed spare tire
1/4 tank of gas
Nitto 450's @ 20psi
in between runs i but a bag of ice on my intake mani. didnt know if it made a difference but i saw this trick done back in the day at sears point
This run I ran a SRT-4 and I beat his 60'ft but by 1/8 mile he sucked me up and pulled a 14.7 he was a shitty driver.
Anyone think i cound have broke into 15.5's with my set-up? The rest of the night i was pulling crappy *** 60'fts in the 2.3's and was pulling 15.8's
will post time slips when i get them scanned later tonight.
Let me know what you guys think...
-Brandon

running open header on a D is probably doing more harm than good. You have no torque... ONce you hit the top end, yeah, you ahve power, but if it takes forever to get to the upper end of the gear, what's the point?

when you're draggin, you're never below 4k that's why you want to run open header. you lose low end but gain top. doesn't matter what motor you're running. But anyway, if you wanna break into the 15.5 with your setup try resetting your ecu by plugging the ecu fuse and putting it back in. then advance your timing. also what octane fuel are you running? i know it doesn't really matter with n/a cars but if you advanced your timing you should use a bit higher octane fuel to be on the safe side.

my buddy with a 99 ex did this when i told him to. he was running 18s all day and after advancing his timing and using a little race gas, was able to muster up a few mid 17 runs.

nice work on it though, my buddy nicknamed "hanson" ran a 15.0 with a sohcvtec in his vx just a muffler and a short ram, the motor always seemed very very strong though
