Default how to add extra protection to front lips?

well ever since i have put my spoon style carbon fiber front lip on i have been really scared to drive any where lol. but it is unavoidable in some parts of town. i have managed to scrape the very bottom of my lip about 2 times and you cant see it but u can feel very small scratches with your fingers if you rub the bottom of it. well i went and got out the good ole roll of black electrical tape and added layers and layers to the very bottom of the lip first in the affected areas then to teh rest, then after covering the whole bottom of the lip i added about 3 more layers generously to the entire bottom. you cant see the tape but you can feel it on teh bottom. i was wondering if this was a dedent idea or are there any better ideas out there. if this was an ABS lip i wouldnt care so much but this bitch cost about 260 bux and i dont plan on buying one every couple of months. any ideas?

do you seriously think electrical tape will stop your lip from getting scratched or cracked??? it's not gonna do **** for you. if you're really that worried, get an abs one like you mentioned. i had an abs one on my old hatch and i slammed it pretty hard lots of different times, and it never cracked. it did get scratched on the bottom, but nobody can see it anyway, so it didn't matter.

that's what happens when you buy a CF lip for a lowered Honda. Your idea will work for like 3 scrapes, seeing as electrical tape will sheer/melt off pretty easilly. If you didn't think about this before getting your bling-bling Spoon lip, nobody's going to feel sorry for you here.

You can't protect it daily driving.

i have vis spoon cf lip on my 2000 coupe..
looks nice, but it scrapes 80% of the time when going up driveways (its only lowered 1.7 in the front and 1.9 in the back). ive had it for 5 months now and its cracked in the middle, the two sides (the lowest) are all scraped up with holes in them now, and there's just scratches everywhere underneath the lip. but i dont care, it still looks nice even with a big crack right in the middle.

This is the reason why I never got a CF lip.... I drive my car too much to be worrying about a damn lip....

EBAY CTR Lip.... Cheap to replace if it cracks..

well it may sound stupid. But they have those clear bra's for cars and u could cut out a shape of the bottom of the lip and put a couple of layers on it. The stuff is suppose to be strong. Prevents rock chips ect. so it never hurts to try.

That's more protection than that damn clear cover. I think it'll work you just have to keep reapplying the tape because some of it will tear off. But if you don't scrape it that much i guarantee it will work. I did something lke that for my WW RS front lip. Yeah it's ABS plastic but the tape did help. Holla at Apex I ITR. He has had 2 carbon fiber front lips and none of them have cracked. He thought he cracked his first one but it was just extra dirt.

YOUR PLAN WORKS, DON'T LISTEN TO THESE HATERS. Just keep reapplying tape if you scrape the bottom.

yea i have been doing that. its better to scrape the tape first then to scrape the actual lip. i know if i had not had the tape on there at some points there would have been more damage then just little scrapes

Screw it. You're not going to be able to keep the lip looking brand spanking new forever. Just drive really slow. Scrapping is unavoidable. I should know. My Mugen lip took many beatings from pot holes and other such obsticles on the road.

Maybe you could rivet a thin piece of metal to the bottom.
