Default JDM 4.785 FD

This winter I'll be installing a FD in my transmssion. Is there any particular part that fails in a B-series tranny? I really do not need a grocery list of parts just ones that people have had to replace. The tranny I have has almost 90,000 miles on it and still shifts very well.
Also, I've done a search and some people specified replacing the friction damper that's not necessarily include in the FD kit. Can I use the old one in the tranny?
Thanks for all that help

Since the title is perfect, I'll have to ***** your thread to announce that I will have 2 JDM FD's for sale this winter. thx.

Inspect the synchros while you're in there, but at the same time, if it aint broke dont fix it. The only thing I replaced was the top ball bearing on the cshaft cause i screwed it up when taking it out.

I reused the friction damper.

How did you screw it up? Anything I need to be aware of?
Thanks

I put the puller on the outside of the bearing and not the inner race and it fucked it up. I don't know how else to get it off though because the gap in between the two is so small... anyone?

Might as well change the flywheel and clutch while you are in there if you plan on it soon. You don't need it of course, but it would save having to spend time on another pain in the *** install.
