Tach wire on 89 CRX Si...?
i just tapped into the blue wire coming from the dizzy.... thats how i got my tach to read the RPM's.... so i'd assume u'd just need to tap into that and dial in on ur light so it knows when to come on. but im not totally sure.
yeah there is a plug with 2 wires on the dizzy... one i think is black/yellow?... the other is blue... tap into it... you can tap into it at the dizzy, by the firewall, or keep the wire hidden and wire it near the ecu or behind the gauge cluster
that's exactly what I did, that plug on the dizzy, I tapped into the blue wire. Unless it was a total coincidence that my car decided not to start, I didn't start it prior to that so I really don't know, the last time was the day before.
I tapped mine straight into the blue wire coming off the 2 wire plug on the dizzy. I didnt cut the wire and solder in the tach wire though, wat i did was cut a rectangle out of the side of the plug so that i could get the tach wire to go through, then i just wedged the wire into the connector and plugged it back into the dizzy. Makes it look cleaner and you dont have to do any soldering. OR you can do what others suggested and hook it up directly to the back of the stock gauge cluster, the wire is blue BTW.
