Default Where should I take my car for warranty work in the So. Cal. area?

Where should I take my car for warranty work in So Cal? I'm looking for a reliable

and trustworthy dealership to take my car. My transmission is making a whinning

sound when in gear. I am weary of taking it to the dealer because I know they will

try to blame it on my aftermarket final drive clutch or flywheel. I already tried taking

it to Metro Acura and they said the problem is probably coming from my final drive.

They said that if I pay $750 for labor they would tear down the tranny and figure out

what is wrong. If they find out that the problem is coming from my aftermarket parts

they will not warranty my service, but if it is an OEM part they would reimburse me.

The problem is, I know they are going to blame it on my afermarket parts and I'm

put in a comprimising position because I would have already paid for the service.

In short I need to find a trustworthy dealership in the so cal area. I don't even know

if one exists lol......

You will probly not find a dealer in the country to warranty the parts for your trans due to the aftermarket final drive which means you have had the trans apart and there is non-OEM parts in it. Why should they pay for it when it has aftermarket parts in the trans? Im not trying to be a dick, but Im a Honda Tech at a dealer and we would do the samething. Just my 2 cents.

Technically, you voided your transmission warranty when you split the case and put in the JDM final drive. You drag race the car and you want Honda to pay for any transmission failures that may have occurred? Does not really sound right to me. Honda may warranty whatever failed, but it's not really ethical on your part.

I took my Playstation 2 apart to chip it, and something went wrong. I could have gotten a new Playstation 2 from Sony, but I figure if I broke it, I deserve to pay for it. My opinion.

Metro Acura actually did install for the parts, and they never told me that it would void my warranty.

I'm sure every R owner races their car in some way or another. In my opinion I'm driving the car it was intended to be driven.

They don`t have to. You asked them to install X parts and they did.

Your trans warranty is void.

Do not take it to Acura of Riverside.

Try Acura of Montclair (Metro Acura), that's a really good dealership.
