ok i'm a month overdue on my smog and i have a check engine light that just stays on..now in CA its an automatic fail on the inspect so need to have this thing fixed...

here is the info and i hope you guys can help..thanks in advance.
its a d15b2 dpfi..everything back to stock in my lx
not a single code
i have 3 pm5 ecus that i switched in but with each its the same thing.
even my gas mileage is decent about 290+
high idle at about 1K, sometimes fluxuates
i've checked all my vaccum lines, put in a new o2 sensor, iacv valve, checked for head gasket leak..
also my car when i quickly accelerate or let off the gas i will get a bad jerk.

these are the only symptoms, etc. that i have or have checked..please i need some input as to how to get rid of this damn light...cause i don't want to have spend $400 on some mechanic to check out all my electrical and **** just to smog the engine i'm going to swap out in a couple months.

EDIT: damn i'm a moron...ive had obd1 engines/ecus for the past 3 years and am used to jumping and checking CEL for codes i completely forgot about the the LED window on the pm5
anyway its code 14 and a simple fix...thanks for tolerating my stupidity

so your saying...everytime you reset the ecu it still throws a cel but doesnt show a code?

if you cant figure it out in time pull the bulb for the cel!!!

 

thats right...even after i reset the ecu i still get CEL with no code...i've switched in 3 other ecus that i've had laying around, for my car, and still the same thing.

and i can't just pull the bulb because during the smog inspection they check it to make sure the CEL is functioning...unless you were suggesting that it may be a faulty bulb?? then i'll switch it out i have a spare somewhere.

When CEL is on, does the LED on the ECU stay on solid or does it remain off?

 

it turns off....i'm pretty sure...but i will check tomorrow morning just to be certain.
