Black smoke usually means too rich.

Holy ****. This has to be one of the dumbest things I have ever done while working on my car. You see, last night I was checking my sensor hookups in my wiring harness and while talking to my friend I forgot to plug in the entire d-clip into the ecu. So basically, my car was running with nearly all or completely all of the sensors not hooked up. Surprised that it was even running, I managed to plug it back in (after I turned the motor off, that is). A f*ckin noobish thing to do, but I guess we all have to learn from our mistakes...

dang man. yeah, you've gotta have those sensors hooked up. also retard the timing if you were running a little rich to begin with (idle adj.)... also resetting the ecu never hurt anyone.
have fun
