swap shift linkage help
its not really as hard as it seems.
1. cut both shafts somewhere near the middle of a long straight point.(this is for adjusting the length, take care to remember which way the metal bracket the holds the pin is mounted, if not ur shift linkage will sit too far to one side.)
2.cut two straight 6" lengths of of ur old shift linkage(it should be able to fit inside the new linkage. if not go to home depot and find sumpin that will.
3.mount the shifter
4.mount the other two ends to the tranny.
5. now u should be able to slide the two peices from ur old linkage to get the exact fit
make sure u either mark it or if u have the means just tack it w self tapping screws to hold it until welding it.
6.make sure u can hit all the gears before unbolting it(dont bang em though, just see if its gonna work)
7.if u have to get ur exhaust modified then u can have the exhaust shop do it then(thats what i did, it should hold as long as u dont smash on it on the way there.)
I hope this works for u, let me know I wish i had pics
