Newbie...please help me out....RSX or EP's
hey all.....! cant decide on what car to get.....can someone help me out....im kinda leaning towards the new si hatch....but i love the rsx to....dunno which one to get....how fast do these cars go with minor bolt ons like headers, intake, exhaust, hondata..etc....? which ones a better car to get.......hpwise and dependability of the car........are these new k20's good to turbocharge......? please help me out fellas.....any suggestions will be greatly appreciated......
If ya got the extra cash, get the Type S. If it comes down to a decision between base rsx and the SI, its up to you. I liked the SI better than the base rsx because of the interior, and the way the exterior looked grew on me (I didn't really like it before).
those k20 engines, are they a good platform to go boost.....? or will a rsx types with bolt ons like headers, exhaust, intake, camgears, run pretty good already...like around 14's or possible 13's running n/a...thanks....! sorry bout all the questions really wanna learn more....thanks again
K20A3 is good for boost because of its already low comp. The K20A2 doesn't necessarily need boost and with boltons you'll be into the 14s easily (maybe even high 13s).

IMO, the Si has a nicer interior. i hate the cloth in the base RSX. plus, its a base model...the Si is top o' the line. and much more rare. and much cooler looking when sitting next to a golf or focus. but not next to my DA.
hmmm.. do you plan on doing anything w/ your car like drag/auto-x/roadrace?
between the base rsx and si, if you were to autox or roadrace, i'd get the si.
they're pretty close in weight, but imo the si's chasis is a lot stiffer.
it'd be cool if you auto-x since ur from anaheim (i'm from around there too).... there's usually 3 si's that come to about every practices, but barely any rsx's.
dont know much about drag racing if your into that though. never had the money to be noticibly fast. seems like the avg civics are doing 13's or something now-a-days and to be faster than that, its gonna cost a lot more $$$$.

thanks for all the response fellas.....im really leaning towards getting the new hatch......i knw alot of peeps been sayin it looks like a minivan but i like the way it looks.....i wanna slap a turbo in it as soon as i get one but dunno much about cars and dunno what i really need to go about turbocharging it....how much work will i have to do? and how much money am i looking to spend on a project like this....hoping to boost around 10-15 lbs......so please help me out somemore guys......! thanks in advance.....
Problem with the RSX Type-S is you can get WRX's for 22-23k easily... A good friend of mine got a new WRX for 22.5k, and as much as I love the RSX, the WRX kind of blows it out of the water.
Just something to consider. (I love the EP3 hatch though, if it were me, I'd get the hatch and have a lower car payment!!)

i agree. if you cant afford to get the rsx-s then get the civic si. i picked mine up for 15,288. this made my decision easier. i was thinkin about getting an rsx-s till i ran into that deal. plus the hatch is a bit more unique.
Type S is cookie cutter, its the new Firebird of our generation.
Get the Ephatch, take the money you save and get the CN stage 1 turbo, you put down the SAME horsepower the Type S guys will with just 1 more Psi bump over them.
You can boost up to 11 psi safely 12psi is pushing it on the stock internals (there are plenty of guys at club rsx who run 12 psi on their base models).
Push close to 300 hp to the ground.
But then again I love my EP. I wouldnt have it any other way.
