Lap times at the Glen
EMRA just posted our lap times from the Glen 2 weeks ago. I wanted to know how much slower my 88 Civic with D16Z6 would be in comparison with an H1 car and now I know: over 6 seconds slower per lap! Matt Dudek lapped a 2:17.543 in the enduro. I managed a 2:24.090 in the Friday sprint. I guess my car, technically H1, is not exactly optimized for the HC. Luckily I'm not in Matt's class in EMRA events!
Still, I'm quite happy, considering it's 10 seconds faster than I went last year with my stock D15. Other notables in our group: ex-Speedvision Mustang: 2:14.914, tuned B16 EK: 2:17.797, ex-Speedvision Golf with now de-tuned VR6: 2:17.699. I think most in our group from Quebec were happy with their times, especially considering how cold it was.

Nah, McCarthy isn't even big bore, and I'm pretty sure he isn't #33.

Who should be in STGT? Me? I have like 130 hp...at the crank... The Corvette C5 is in STGT. Also, there was an ST2 CRX lapping 2:23's.

EMRA uses a good, friendly, common sense classing system. when i ran with EMRA, i ran in ST-1 in my 95 Civic hatch with LS swap. back then, it was a bone stock LS swap with 140 crank horsepower. with that powerplant combination, i ran mid to back of the pack at best in ST-1. best laptime up at the glen was low 2:24s back then....
EMRA classed me at ST-1, which was appropriate. i was by no means a ST-GT car. my finishing position and laptimes confirmed this throughout the 2000, 2001 season. when i talked to the people in charge about classing, they asked me about my powerplant, horsepower, and weight. i was told that if i had any internal mods, or if i had a VTEC DOHC powerplant, I'd be put in ST-GT instead.
your SOHC car definitely should not be put in ST-GT.
good luck and have fun!

Yah, except, even though they list all integras 94+ in ST1 the tech ppl are all in agreement that the ITR belongs in STGT...which is just retarded....
yah....ITR vs. NSX .... makes perfect sense...

Thanks Matt, I was trying to explain that to them.
The fact that you allowed unlimited mods per class.....well.....with a bit of work a GSR can fight with a ITR....driver would make up the difference.
They do admit that they are behind in the classes and they want new member input for reclassifying.
BTW, we are trying to work a deal with them to run 2 of our Provincial RR next year in their schedule.....WGI and Shannonville in Aug. You should come up and run against the rest of the fast Quebec Honda crowd...ya know you will have fun.

Matt
edit: actual times 2:17.374 (Friday) 6/12 laps in the 2:17s
2:17.377 (Saturday) only 2/12 laps in the 2:17s because I started at the back
