Default Narrowing Wheel Width (keyword add: reducing width rim skinnies )

Is it possible to safely narrow down a wheel? I'd like to get some matching skinnies for my 13x8 Volk TE37's that I have for slicks. However, the skinniest 15" TE37 I find is like 5.5" or something like that. I'd like to go with a 3.5 or 4.0". Can a wheel be reduced in width easily? Thanks in advance.

Default Re: Narrowing Wheel Width (CheezeFrog)

Ive definitely seen wheels widened safely... but I dont know about narrrowing them.
I would imagine that the cost might be prohibitive on a project like this....
Widening costs at a minimum $100 a wheel, so narrowing would probably be more, since it is an uncommon practice.... plus you have to have the volks to begin with...

I would probably have somebody try it with some knock-offs rather than real volks...

Also, what about just getting the narrowest wheels, and putting narrower tires on them, then just running high tire pressures... ?

I know, not very helpful... but I tried.
