Someone vandalized my R
Woke up this mornig to go to work around 5:00, walf outside to get some papers out the R, get to the door and notice my seats are missing, along with door panels, broken steering colum, and ignition, and for some strange reason they took the ecu. "counting to 10 as I type"

breathe in.... breathe out....
consider this an opportunity to get nice seats (depending on your car's purpose) and be happy your car was still there!

Sorry to hear it man. been there, done that as have many of us. Hopefully your insurance will help you out. I know in my case when my interior was stolen and vandalized, they totalled the car. Read about it in my sig if you get a chance, it might help you out some.

This is why I am glad that I live in hick-ville South Carolina and most people have no idea what a Type R even is. For the few that do know, that's why it lives in the garage at night.
sound's like there's a good chance the insurance will total it out
if so just buy it back from them and get it fixed
to tell u the truth i think u can probably get it fixed and still have so cash left over
depending on how much they charge u to buy it back

(QUOTE)This is why I am glad that I live in hick-ville. Kinda like me here. I live amungst folks who shoot first then ask ?'s later. The Sherrif patrols this area alot during the night & luckly they're really cool people. & yes my R stays in the garage most all the time.
I know your pain, it is a sad truth, but anyone from the NY area knows that the inevitable will happen!
Atleast you still have it though..
Your insurance may total it because the interior new from Acura runs in excess of $9,000 i believe

geez, i've never had to deal with insurance over theft of anything more than a stereo and busted center console (older celica i used to have) so is there anyway to convince your insurance that you can find the parts for cheaper in order to prevent totalling it?

they value the parts missing. I think mine was $13,000 in damage estimated by them to replace everything that was missing or broken (all OEM parts by the way). I was able to pay the car off, and they totalled it, and I kept the car. Its in court right now and its a long drawn out mess.

argh.. if only they had a lock that would keep them from opening the doors... or a moat of poisonious fluid surrounding ur car.. a secret bat cave..

When my car was stripped, the total was around $11,000 and they did not total it. I guess it all depends on your insurance.

this is f***** up, I just got the damn car and since have had it almost stole once, and the worst part is that I move tommorow into a townhome w/ garage... I really dont want them to total the car, anyone know a way around it.
Hey, has the insurance company came out and looked at the car already??
If they haven't just install all of the stuff that you have bought already into the car and call it a day. If they have came out and looked at it you are kinda screwed because they have already accessed the damidge and there is nothing you can do about that.
Cars with over 5k in damidge are declared salvage no matter what so just go from there... and let me know what you think...
Let me know what happens..

same thing happened to me minus the missing seats. i did have some scratches around the a pillar and the hood. my insurance company didnt total the car and i had over 5g's in damage.
IMO you should call your adjuster and put up a arguement if they decide to give you trouble. if the adjuster can do sh*t then talk to his/her supervisor
be careful with the R at your new place, sounds dangerous!
