Have an opportunity to pick up some Sparcos but they are outta an 89 and I have an 88. I was told they may not fit..true?

I think the bolt locations are slightly different.

I know this isn't exactly what you asked, but...

88 CRX Si seats would not bolt directly up to my 89 Civic. FYI.

 

I bought some 89 Si seats and they would not bolt into my 88 DX. I believe that the 89, 90 and 91's are all the same though.

 

are they close? Could I modify them to fit?

 

I am sure you could modify them to fit, it might take some effort though

nope it is really hard but I got 89si seats in my 88 dx. the trick is the levers you have to keep on moving them up and down untill it fits.

 

I've got some 90 Si seats that I want to put in my 89 HF (same as 88). How did you do it?

 

Did the 90 Si seats not bolt right in? I thought they had the same brackets as the 89's. I know that the mounts in the 88's are completely different. Anyone else have any comments on this?

 

89,90, & 91 should all be compatible with each ohter, on 88 the floor mounts are different soyou would have to modify the rails somehow... good luck

 

You see, that is the beauty of the 89 hf. It has the niceness of the seat belts going where God intended but it gets the rear suspension of the 89-91 CRX's. It's kind of a mut that way. The 89 DX and Si's had the seatbelts in the doors but the 89 HF was still attached to the b-pillar. The 88 CRX has this goofy rear suspension that has passive stearing and was considered a bit too "exciting" the average driver. Let me tell you, I've driven an 88 si with a B16 and it was squilley as hell.

I am in the process of moving all of my Si parts into my 89 HF that I just got back from the body shop and I noticed the seats won't bolt up. I haven't tackled the problem yet but I am going to try attaching the 89 HF rails to the 90 Si seats. We'll see how it turns out.

If anybody has done this operation sucessfully, emial me please.

i took my old seats out of my 89 crx an swap them with my 90 crx.
an it bolted up with no problems.....
