Default Hondata programmable K series ECU

We realize that we are several months away from releasing this product, but feel that it is necessary to announce the future release of the product as it will be on display at SEMA.

http://www.hondata.com/kprorelease.html

We anticipate many questions about this new product. Please don't call us at Hondata - the product is under development, so while most features are set, the exact way each feature will work is not finalized. We will try to answer as many questions as possible in this thread.

Thanks for your patience.

I'd really like to see the removal of the immobilizer for the application of engine swaps into various Civics, Integras, etc.

Those of us looking to do the K swaps with the aid of HASport mounts, etc. will need some sort of solution to the immobilzer aside from having to run all of the RSX wiring, etc.

I think you guys could really tap into a major cash cow by looking at hybriders when you guys are coming up with these new programs and stuff.

My 2 cents.

The immobilizer can be disabled or enabled in software. The thread sleeprhatch refers to is about wiring up a fuel pump and not an immobilizer issue, so swaps and hybrids will not be a problem.

All OBD II emissions equipment, second O2, purge and evap valves can be disabled or renabled at any time.

Fantastic - so glad this is going to be released.

A couple questions:
You will be able to store more than one map, correct (I'm assuming this is just in the Windows
software)? i.e. switch from an AutoX map to
a 1/4 mile nitrous map with a few clicks?

Is this a piggy back - or is it modification of
the stock ECU? From the pictures, it appears
to be a piggy-back type app, but it also looks
like you plug your ECU into this and it sits in
the same place?

Any chance we'll ever be able to get in on a
groupbuy for this?

This is going to be nice. Are you guys going to continue the with the greddy re-flash for their turbo? Or does this eliminate the need since this will be boost applicable as well.

Well then some guy at Hondata straight up lied or was misinformed when I called yesterday.

I had not even read the "do not call" thing at all. I called regarding immobilizer, OBD2 crap, etc. and he treated me like some kid talking **** about doing a K swap into a car that it's not supposed to be in. I won't mention names, but I'm pretty sure I got his name.

If you guys offer such an ECU with basically OBD1 functions and a disabled immobilizer, how much do you anticipate it costing?

Hondata is the God of engine management. You just answered all my questions. Thank-you. No if we can just find a canadian dealer that is not trying to rip us off.( we have been quoted 1200 can to reflash which is no where near the affordable 600 us) .

One more thing, will there be a G-sensor type adapter in the future for this device?

Whats the deal with this new hondata programable ecu? Will it work well to tune my K24 Type S with minor mods for now and major mods to come in the future? What if i eventually want to run more than 10 pounds of boost? Am i just better off waiting for the AEM plug and play? Taking into consideration that on the hondata site they are sayin msrp should be around 1500$? What do you guys know and also i'd like to here your opinions. Thanks.
