Piston-valve clearance w/ JE B20vtec pistons and LS head?

Piston-valve clearance w/ JE B20vtec pistons and LS head?
I'm planning a mild B20 non-vtec buildup and bought some JE 84mm pistons which are designed for a B20 block and a B16 head. I was just informed to today that supposedly these pistons will not work on in a B20 block if you retain the B20 head....only the B16.
If this is in fact correct, why can't I use the LS/B20 head w/ these pistons?
on me for not calling JE before I bought these pistons.
