Default HELP! 94 accord clutch problem

what up guys, my bro needs some input about his accord. its a 94 4door, not sure the model but its 5spd non vtec. 110k mi, and pretty sure its the original clutch.

anyway, he's saying that he has little to no clutch pressure and that it catches near the floor, rather than at the top. he says its not slipping but def doesnt feel normal. he also said it really only happens when its cold out and has more problems in 1st and 2nd rather than 3,4,5. he also said it doesnt grind. so with all that, what could be the problem? appreciate all your imput
peace

if a new clutch is needed, any thoughts on that... hes on a budget so keep that in mind.

Default Re: HELP! 94 accord clutch problem (94ls)

If he has little to no clutch pressure, it's likely a problem with the hydraulic clutch, either the master cylinder or slave cylinder likely. Check the master cylinder (firewall, near the clutch pedal itself) and the slave cylinder (near the tranny, beside a radiator fan) for leaks.

If you can't spot any obvious leaks, bleed the clutch and watch for air. If there's air in the system, bleed it up fully and try it out. If the clutch pressure is good for a while and starts getting crappy again, it's likely a leaking cylinder.

Engagement near the floor usually indicates a good friction disk. If the friction disk was badly worn, it would only be engaging near the top. My engagement point moved down significantly after replacing the clutch.
