I just got my new set of stage 2 axles good for 425HP but the abs box wasn;t checked and I forgot what it is that distiguishes the difference betwen the two, abs and non-abs axles. Can someone show me or link me to something. pics maybe. please let me know.

 

there's a bumpy aluminum metal strip around the outter cup of the axle; the part of the axles that plugs into the wheel hub. That metal strip is read by the ABS sensor that lives on the innerside of the knuckle/hub assembly...

No metal strip = non-abs axles

 

a bumpy aluminum metal strip around the outer cup of the axle. that narrows it down to the spline, a c ring and a whole other bunch of bumpy parts. got a pic at all??

 

It is easy to tell. Just look at the end that goes into the hub and if you see a whiteish strip going around the entire joint with bumps on it, then it is an ABS axle. I don't have a pic, but it is very easy to tell.

 

ahhh stil not helping here. I am axle illiterate at this point.

 

See that aluminum ring around the axle. He has his thumb on it. Its on the end of the axle where the nut is. HTH

you can put abs rings on the axles i believe
