SUSPENSION ADVICE needed for a Del Sol
i know the del sol isnt the best platform to startoff with. but its all i have and i've tried my best so far to deal with chassis problems. anyways. i was interested in starting my very first autocross this coming season and wanted advice of which suspension setups would suit an occasional autox yet still be street drivable. since this car is also my daily driver. i was thinking at first..... tein flex, but i think that migh tbe a little overbaord. my second thoughts were the tein ss for the integra. it has higher spring rated than the del sol: 448/336 as opposed to 392/168.
one of my friends autocrosses and he recommended getting revalved koni yellows from truechoice and 7"x2.5"x 400f/450r
he also said for the price i might want to look into complete h&r coilover setups.
now my question for you guru's is...what would you all run... for a novice, nothing too excessive (yet). so that until i tune my driving, i will be able to make the most of my car. my current relevant mods so far are:
cusco front lower tie bar
24mm front/ 15mm rear sway bar (gsr)
generic upper strut bar (came with car)
emracing trunk bar setup
and integra brakes all around (bb/mc/pv and all calipers with brembo blanks)
goodridge g-stop brake lines
current suspension: tokiko blue with h&r sport springs (blues came with car)
now what i'm looking for:
suspension combo that is affordable yet very active. i want something that will make the best of my money yet i wouldnt mind upgrading in a year or so once i get better. something to start on.
price range.... up to 1200.00
thanks for reading. please no flaming as i am still learning

I wouldn't buy anything. Run what you have in DSP. You'll be amazed at how much fun it is even stock.
But, if you must upgrade, go with custom coilover springs and KONI Sport shocks.

but even if i dont have all stock parts? for instance the tokiko blues came with the car when i bought it off a guy in maryland. but i just put h&r springs because the eibachs were sagging and rough. but also what limit is there before distinguishing classes. being a del sol s, my car was never equipped with rear disks or sway bars for that matter. is it still considered stock (since half the stuff came on del sol vtec's i.e 10.2 front brakes, rear disk, sway)
if you've never been to an autocross before dont do anything to the car to prepare for the event.
Prepare yourself instead. There's some good reading in the forum FAQ. You wont be competitive for your first year. Or your second year. Then maybe you can really start worrying about it.

You already have a half decent suspension to start on. Spend your money on seat-time and maybe get a set of decent wheels with race tires once you had a few events under your belt...
BTW your car is not eligible in stock class obviously, and even Street Prepared. Check the rule book to see if some of your current mods are legal in the class you want to run in. For example unless the Integra brakes are IDENTICAL to the DelSol Si (meaning same Honda part numbers), this setup is illegal in DSP and would throw you into StreetMod. The emracing monkey bar setup is most likely illegal in SP also and would throw you even higher into Prepared or Modified...
But anyways, dont worry too much about that in the beginning. Once you start autoxing, you will have a much better idea of what's legal or not from other experienced people...

Assuming their GSR brakes and not ITR, they are identical to del Sol VTEC brakes, thus legal in DSP through UD/BD. Don't know anything about the emracing bar.
EDIT: Looking at their site, if you have just the Rear Strut Brace, you're fine, anything else is illegal in any reasonable class. I wouldn't worry about it your first several events (no one will mind since you won't be competitive anyway), but you may want to remove it after a while.

I can always take bars off the car. but as far as brakes, to my knowledge the del sol vtec brake calipers are exatly the same. the only thing different is brake booster and master cylinder. the del sol vtec has a 7/8 mc while i have a 15/16.
i dont mind if eveyone thinks i suck but i just want to get into a class that suits me
nothing to crazy. i wouldnt like going up against porsche and bmw's with a d15.....

At this point, as a novice it wont matter whether you have a ACR Viper or an Abrams Tank. You're gonna get rolled, hard, either way.

i just wanted to go for the eperience and fun. practice makes perfect right? i guess over time i will be able to fine tune how i drive and make the best of the event. maybe not for competition but maybe as a hobby.
thanks evryone for the advice so far, i guess i should stick to a milder suspension setup. maybe koni yellows with h&r springs. these tokiko ride like crap. but overall i sence that i should go to an event as is, learn what the hell is going on and what i'm doing and go from there.
