Default some compassion for the EX-ITR owners

After class I walked to my car. Today was different because I arrived on campus early and parked at a very distant lot. Once I got to my car I opened my car door. I saw a screw on the floor mat. Immediately I know something is wrong. I looked up at my steering wheel column and the bottom housing (case) was gone. I paniced not really knowing what happened besides the obvious. I popped my hood glace over it quickly, everything was there. I got back in the car check my glove box and center console. Everything was there. I know someone was trying to steal my car but thankfully they got scared and ran off. The only things that are missing are the bottom steering wheel housing and my work out clothes. I guess they got spooked by someone getting to close and just took them to act like the car was theirs.

Now I have a stock GSR (besides JDM ITR FY *bling bling*). Unfortunately I don't have an alarm and this was probably obvious to whoever was in my car. that's going to change this week for sure.

I just wanted to say I can truly understand what it must feel like for someone to have their car stolen. Even though I had a semi-painless experience, I can only imagine what it must feel like. I had so many emotions going through my body I didn't know what to do.

I filed a report with the campus police and tomorrow I'm filing one with the city police department. I screwed up by getting in my car Apparently they would have dusted for prints. A friend and mine had his car deck stolen a few quarters ago and they didn't dust so I assumed they wouldn't for this

There is no way I could, in good health live with owning an ITR and park a community college parking lot 200+/- days a year.

I CAN'T BELIEVE THIS ****!!!

So I park in my apparment parking garage. I go up to my appartment to grab my digi cam to take a picture of my ignition for a friend. I decide to take some pictures of the surround cars, for kicks. A brand new e46 m3, a z06 vette, a RX8, AMG benz, an s2k, and lasty a yellow hatch. I get home and start to look at the pictures. Then I notice that the yellow hatch was broken into

Long story short I file a police report for my car @ 3 a.m. Cop finally shows up at 3:45. I explain the whole situation to him. He leaves a note for the hatch. The onwer is from AZ as well as his s2k buddy (had autox numbers on it). The cop can't really do anything for the hatch b/c it's from out of state.

I am so very pissed off at thieves now It's so fu cked up that they have to break into hondas. I mean of all the cars in that garage, they pick the hatch I've read the threads explaining why this is but it gets me everytime

wow, what neighborhood do you live in that has such nice cars in the garage? anyways, death to thieves.
get an alarm asap and add a fuelkill switch, a pager, and autolock..etc.

You might want to consider that it might not be that the car was broken into because it was a Honda. The owner may have had valuable looking stuff lying around like a backpack or wallet. When I lived in the States, my CRX was broken into just because the ****** wanted my portable CD player that I stupidly left in the front seat...nothing else was stolen. The next day, I saw it in a pawn shop down the street. I knew it was mine because, they didn't sell that model in the States (I bought it in Japan) and the ******* forgot to take the CD out which was J-POP! I walked into the shop and told the clerk, "You know that CD player works so much better if you had the remote control and the instruction book" which I flashed in his face.

I guess he panicked, because it was gone when I checked again later.

It's touch and go whether they dust or not, they dusted when my car was stripped.

You might know how it feels when you first realize something is wrong, but it's different when you realize that your entire car or everything in it is gone. Just be glad they didn't get it

Get an alarm ASAP!

Thanks guys. This weekend lots of security goodies get installed.

mist Si - very sorry to see that.

So the guy who owns the hatch owns the s2k also? The s2k was fine. They were parked next to each other.

I understand. I NEVER leave anything visable in my car. I had an old nokia cell phone, collegne(sp), tire presure gauge, and leathermen tool in the centerconsole. The theif didn't take anything else besides my clothes and the bottom cover.

I don't think the hatch had anything laying around also considering it is a track car.

I plan on gettin an ITR but now i'm definitely going to wait till i'm done with the community college.

I would feel more sympathetic for you guys if you guys had alarms or another form of anti-theft mechanisms installed on your cars, and the thieves still stole your car. If you are going to drive a highly sought after car such as the type R. Then get an alarm, seriously it does not cost that much. It serves its purpose as a deterant. I have an R myself and I have a clifford alarm, an immobilizer, lo jack, and a clutch lock. If you really do not want your cars to be messed with, take some initiative and protect it the best you can. If it was not for those damn animal rights activist, I would leave my pittbull inside my car while I am in class and hope that he will bite the **** out of anyone who tries to mess with my car.

Thanks epy for the post and the pictures. I couldn't belive when my buddy from arizona calls me up and tells me that he saw pictures of my broken-in car on the internet. I did find the cop's card that was left on my windshield, and I filed a police report that same day after work. A different cop came out and dusted for prints. Surprisingly, I was still able to start the car with the key and drive it. today however, I engaged the steering lock to test it, and now the key wont turn and I can't unlock the steering. Hopefully all I need is to replace the locking mechanism and not replace the whole ignition switch. Tonight I will be consulting my helms manual...

No problem at all man. I had a lot of sympathy b/c I just went through my ordeal like 7 hrs before. I was just randomly taking pictures of "cool cars". That rx8 and the e46 m3 down there are so secki When I was home looking through the pictures I noticed your window was busted I had to wait for a cop to show up, 45 minutes later I was walking around the garage freezing my arss off. The cop looked at your car first and then went over to mine to file a report. He said he couldn't file a report at the time for your car b/c it was from AZ.

Pics were taken after I cleaned her up a bit and After it sat for 4 months while I waited on my Ins company to decide wether they'd let me rebuild her.

6 Months later and lots of sweat & bloody knuckles....
