My friend has a 89 CRX with a OBD0 B16. When he puts it in reverse the engine light comes on and throws code 6? Any ideas what it could be?

mine does the same thing somebody said something about snipping a wire something but not sure.............anyone now what i can do

 

let me guess...your crx is a HF? the HF had a wire from the reverse lights going to the ECU for some unknown reason...this wire however, messes up the JDM ECU and sets a code 6. even though there is nothing wrong in the coolant temp sensor circuit.
2 options
1.) unplug the reverse light switch from the transmission
2.) wait for me to get off my lazy butt and find out which wire to snip at the ecu

 

ive done option number one already and its about time to get my inspection so if i can do option number 2 that would be great
