When installing a CAI
you cant plug in all of the stock lines into the AEM CAI tubing...i dont think that the lines really do anyting cause i passed my smog test with my intake and the guy didnt say anything about the extra lines hanging loose...
im still in the process of installing mine, havent had a whole lot of time to finish it up, still sitting in the garage, i guess ill have some hoses left over when im done. Ive heard a couple of people say that it is ok to have the hoses left over also, no harm im assuming. You may find out the hard way if a hose is needed to be somewhere besides hanging loose.
Putting an cai on a 96 ex is a bitch. You have to plug the vacuum line you took off on the back of the intake manifold and you have to put that tiny sponge-like-filter into the hole you removed the other line from. Just make sure you get the cap on the back of the manifold on there good, i used a zip-tie on my friends 94 ex, if you dont get it on there good and it falls off, your idle will be screwed up. and dont forget to remove the negative battery terminal while you do it, and when you are done let the car idle for a while. The only thing that should be hanging there is the wiring that went into the, i think IAR?? system, i just sealed it with duct tape and attatched it to the strut tower and put electrical tape around it to hide it.
i think mine is cool i havent had idle problems and my cruise control is working just fine. i had to cap two vac lines and i left that one harness unplugged and sealed it with elec tape to the chasis.
