keep yours and get a thinner headgasket...that should yield around 11:9:1 w/ somethin like a mugen hg and thats plenty for the street...

If you currently have a stock bottom end and want to raise compression, I'd recommend getting CTRs oversized and stock headgasket.

I was never a fan of using thinner headgaskets to up the compression. It always seemed like a band-aid fix to me.

how much more would the ctr pistons bump the compression up. would i have to bore anything out or can i just take the itr ones out and put the ctr in

On an otherwise stock ITR, the compression actually won't be anywhere near that with just the addition of the Mugen gasket.

if you go with a reduced head gasket (ie. 1 layer)
and jdm b16b pistons your compression would be at 12.44:1
usdm b16a 11.73:1
jdm b16a 11.97:1

Go with a 11.5:1 set up. That is actually the best set up for pumped gas. Then change your valve train, cams and cam gears.

jdm itr pistons and mugen or spoon headgasket will yeild 11.4??:1 compression! ctr pistons and stock head gasket would yield 11.6:1 compression. anything higher than that on 91 pump gas is recommended to retard timing!
