Default Starter issues, 90 prelude h22 motor

Hey all,

I'm having problems start my car and would like some advice.

Background:
3rd gen prelude with a h22a
I put my motor back in after a clutch replacement. So harness and everything that goes along with that was removed and then put back in.

Problem:
I turn the key, all the power comes on dash lights etc.. the fuel pump comes on, I depress the clutch and turn the key the final time. I hear 2 clicks.. clutch interlock and starter relay, but I dont get any juice to the starter. No clicks from the starter nothing. I checked out the start and it works fine(jumped the solenoid). Even tried jumping the battery that didn't work either. I tried to make sure the relays are working right and they seem fine. I do have an alarm system with ignition kill, but not sure how to reset that.

I just tried to bypas the ignition kill and that didn't seem to work. Disconnected the brain unit for the alarm which didn't give me any headway.

Any help would be great.

Thanks
-MiKE

I am having the same exact problem! I thought you were talking about my car except I have a 96 S! This just started happening recently. I was parked at school and the car wouldnt even crank. I turned the key back to off. I tried again, turned the key and depressed the clutch pedal, then it started. It has gotten worse cause now my car wont crank whatever I do. I checked the starter cut relay and it is in good shape( tried it on my other lude). My battery is fine and all my connections are solid. The only thing I have left to check is the clutch starter switch under the dash, because maybe it is stuck. I too have an alarm system, which maybe faulty,,, I dont know. If anyone has any sugesstions that would be great!

i am too now having the same problem...(5th gen lude )
any luck with you guys???

taken from the prelude forum-

the car has 60,000 original miles on it ..
and was working fine for the last year...then all the sudden it doesn't want to start...the starter has been checked out and is 100% o.k. the ignition switch was also checked and is in tip top shape...battery is full charged... when i go to start it all i hear is fast clicking...(like a relay click)

and the car wont start...no CEL's

and get this...when i turn the combination light switch to parking lamps..they work fine but when i give it that second turn ...so the headlights can come on...it makes that relay clicking noise and the headlights don't come on...

all the fuses are fine...i don't understand...what is going on...

try replacing the starter...i have a 22 in my 90 lude too well have had one in there for like 2-3 years now..but never ran into that prob. let me know if you have problems cracking ring lands after you get your 22 running in that 90 lude. cuz thats all the problems ive had...its sickining...3 times its happend to me ..the last time was 4 days ago right after my car came off the dyno with a 23/vtec... ...so ya in trying to fig. it out maybe its the peak/hold injectors and resistor box...so let me know how your car runs in the future.

Replaced the starter, checked the starter relay and still nothing. Any other ideas?

bad ground..check the ground on the battery and check your wire harness ground...you said your battery is alright? make sure its not a dead battery. check your fuses under your dash..there is a starter fuse...

Already checked the 7.5 fuse for the starter signal and checked every fuse possible and every single one is fine. Had the battery tested at autozone and even hooked my girlfriend's car up to mine to see if I could jump it, and still nothing.
