I have a 94 GSR w/ 160k on the motor..at the time, i had aem short ram intake, skunk2 IM, ctr intake cam, gsr exhaust cam, dc 4-2-1 header, greddy sp cat back, and my custom all motor chipped p28..i got 167whp at 132lb's of torque........from what i've heard, the jdm gsr's have a few extra ponies tho.

sounds pretty good. could you tell a good difference after installing the cam and manifold. i dont want to waste my money and i assume i will be able to tell a nice difference. i would hope to dyno 170-180
you will definetly feel a power increase in the high RPM. Make sure you have a good header and exhaust to complement the extra air going into the engine. With this set up, you should be in 160-170whp...just make sure you get you cams dial in.

W/ the ctr intake cam, i noticed a stronger pull in the high end. It got slightly louder as well whenever I would get on the throttle. As for the skunk2 IM install........I highly recommend this mod. I did feel a small loss in torque in the low end, but the high end totally makes up for it. vtec just screams, and you could tell the manifold just flows really good! Just make sure you got the rest of the bolt ons to back up your other mods.

you might want to look into a high flow cat if you dont have one and also a better flowing (maybe 2.5") exhaust. good luck with the mods i'm planning to do the same in a few months.

what would you assume i would run with a jdm b18c in an ek hatch with the mods i listed j's intake, skunk manifold, p73 ecu, type r cams?. not trying to bench race but just curious

um yes
um yes
You will definately feel an increase in power. Your vtec should scream a bit louder too.
Also, as suggested above. With the mods your throwing in there you may want to highly consider getting a good header, hi flow cat, and full catback to go along with your other mods (either 60mm piping or 2.5" i would suggest). If you really want to feel a difference and push that engine to its potential then get some headwork done

one more thing. you'll definatley pick up quite a bit of power by just dyno tuning the setup. either get hondata or a vafc and tune that thing. i guarantee you'll feel the difference.

i was planning on getting a jdm 2.5 header and i alaready have 2.5 inch piping awaiting an es muffler. i would assume that vtec would be alot louder with the cams and one point vtec instead of the dual with the butterflies. i was just trying to get an idea of a track tim of this jdm engine in an ek hatch
track times....
im gonna guess a mid/low 14
.. better if you're experienced
you will notice ~20 hp gain at least!-with cams/IM/header

what give more hp? CTR cams or skunk2 stage 1's?</TD></TR></TABLE>
Skunk2 Stage 1's are more agressive than CTR cams. Both in lift and duration. If you're gonna go All Motor, then I'd just start off with bigger cams and get the Stage 1's. If you can't find these cams for a good price, then CTR cams are also very good.
Can't go wrong with any of them.

00 and 01 are the same as CTR cams. If you can find some of them, get them. there usually the cheapest out of all 3 of the camshafts. the differences between all 3 are minimal. its all in how much you want to spend. also, if your putting this engine into a hatch like stated above then you can expect 13 sec. timeslips. If your in a teg, then depends on driver and how the car responds to the mods. (obd1) im hoping....and that'll yield anywhere from a low 14 all the way up.

it is in an EK hatch and i havent taken it to the track yet but i assume it is near a 14.8 or so since i raced my friends b16 eg and was right next to it and he hits a 14.5 on nittos. so i would hope to get a low 14 with the cams and j;s intake and intake manifold.

i would say that CTR/ITR/stage 1 's are very similar, for a moderate all motor setup, they will all be pretty much the same. but the more you build up the motor, the more the stage 1's are going to benefit in hp.
i dynoed 174 whp with ITR cams, AEM SRI, Skunk mani, DC 4-1, stock cat, greddy sp, and Vafc. the only tunning i did was on the vafc. i had STR cams gears, but didn't adjust them. i noticed i nice gain in power in the top end, with a slight lose in low end.
i assume my numbers would be higher with ITR CAI, JDM 4-1, high flow cat, 2.5 exhaust. and more tunning.
