What to use to flush motor oil after blown headgasket?
This past weekend my headgasket went on my motor and I got it fixed. My question is more on the oil that is contaminated with coolant.
I have already drained the oil and added new clean oil, but im pretty sure there is still some coolant mixed in the oil.
What should I use or do to flush the remaining coolant from my rex?
Thank,
Mig

There's actually some stuff you can buy at any auto parts store that flushes the system out. Somehow it suspends the solids too and they come out when you drain the oil. I suggest you just do a couple of changes (maybe 50 miles appart). You should be fine.
Well actually I did redid the headgasket and drained the oil. But I still would like to use something to clean out the remaining "mayo slug" so to speak out of the motor when i do my next oil change.
FrozenSi.. got any names to the cleaners you are talking about?

well if your that worried about it.. the best thing to do would be drop the oil pan and spray some carb/choke cleaner in it.. it will dry it all up in there.. then just fill it back up with fresh oil
Yup, that is what I'd say Mig. Drop the pan, change the gasket while you're at it if you haven't done it in a while, clean it out top to bottom, and that should help out quite a bit. Put some fresh oil in it, and change it again after about 50 - 100 miles. If there's still quite a bit of contamination, you can always drop and clean the pan again.
So you did get the headgasket fixed obviously? No other damage to report?
