Default trottle position sensor (TPS)

Have a 1995 Acura Integra GSR (w/ v-tech engine) with a bad TPS; to replace it, it seems I need to buy the entire Trottle body for $700+.

Anyone got a used one or a lead where I can get it more reasonably?

In Chicago

I'd love to "just replace the TPS", but no one will sell it without the body; any leads as to who?

Just find any integra and take the throttle body out of that. The sensors are all the same so any honda/acura should do. Just dont ask for the Throttle position sensor when you are at the junkyard. Ask for the throttle body instead b/c the dealer knows that the TPS is much more harder to replace than saying the throttle body... catch my drift?

Ok:

First, to my knowledge they arn't all the same.

Second, I am pretty sure that the dealer cant sell you just the tps even if they wanted to. The reason being is that it all comes assembeled and by taking that off, would make the throttle body deffective.

My advice......If you have a local jy that has gsr's then get it from them. Otherwise you may have to get a whole new throttle body, thats what I had to do.
First try right here on h-t and you should be able to get a gsr/type r tb. If not then try hondaautomotiveparts.com or if you have a local shop that can get it for you. Just dont go to the dealer and pay 700 for it!!!!

</TD></TR></TABLE> uh no , it doesn't make the throttle body "defective". You can get the TPS seperately...but cheapest way would be to go to the junkyard.

The tb comes assemebled straight to honda or acura, so if you were to take it off, then how are they supposed to sell it?!?

Actually, I regrettably bought one from the dealership. Unless dealers have different meathods of getting parts(which I doubt because they come from the warehouse, all tb's come with the everything intact and there was no way for them to take the sensor off and sell it to me seperatly. Which leads me to say that they cant sell a part that comes complete, when they piece out parts, but maybe yours is different?

You have the V-tech engine? What Megahertz do you have? do you have the call-waiting and caller ID funtion on that also? I hear those are better than the vtec engines you can find in Hondas?
