Default USDM B18C1 buildup-mild(tell me what you think)

Just putting letters to pad to my very mild, very daily driven 92 CX hatchcrap.

I just purchased a 97 USDM B18C1 motor because a rod exploded through my bone stock 98 USDM B20B4.

Anyway plans include and some parts are already purchased:
AEM short-ram(sorry I will not run a cold air)
ITR Throttle Body
Skunk2 Intake Manifold
OE Intake Manifold Gasket/or Hondata(does it really matter????)
EF-1 M22 cams/valvetrain
Some mild port and polish work
AEM cam gears
Unorthodox Type R crank Pulley
MSD SCI Ignition w/ external coil
JDM DC Sports 4-1 header w/ 2.5" collector(I may buy a used AN-R from a friend)
2.5" inlet/outlet Carsound Cat
Apexi N1 full catback exhaust

This is all mated to a JDM ITR tranny w/ Clutchmasters Stage 4 clutch and lightened flywheel.

So what kind of whp would I be looking at??

Now finally(I know it's a lot of reading) to my actual question. I want to add ITR pistons but is it really worth it. Most people say with the cams I really just need to bore it out. I DO NOT have the money for higher comp. pistons or to bore out the bottom end to 84.5mm. Is the ITR pistons worth it?? I think CTR pistons are a little too high for daily driveability. Am I wrong?? What about shaving the head?? What about a thin headgasket.

My problem is money I do not have money to bore out the block so I'm basically trying to find a quick fix for my cams.

cams like compression not displacement, and i dont know about those cams but u should be fine people proably meant ull need higher compression becuase with a gsr it is a lil low, some itr pistons wouldn't be a bad upgrade at all, if you dont want to go with ctr pistons then i would get jdm p30 piston or JDM-R pistons

oem pistons are not that much(p73's, pr3's, pct's, p30's)...its only about $250 with new rings, and you can just get standard bore so you dont gotta worry about machine work.

If you bore it out, your going to have to sleeve, so do it right the first time and get pistons/rods if you bore. If you keep stock bore, I would say drop in USDM R pistons, or b16 pistons to get around 11.5.
I would also ditch the ITR TB, MSD Ignition, Crank pulley and apexi 60mm exhaust
Replace them with bored out GSR tb, get new plugs, take off PS/AC (if you didnt already), and get a 2.5 inch exhaust to complete the system.
Get the gasket from AN-R.com, same as hondata but 1/2 the price
If you are putting all that work into a hatch w/ a JDM ITR tranny it would be really quick

Why a bored out GSR throttle body?? What's wrong with the MSD Ignition?? I already have JDM NGK 8mm wires and plugs. Isn't the Apexi N1 already 2.5"(I really think mine is). I have a CX hatch, I already don't have PS/AC. The Crank pulley doesn't have anything but the alternator spot for the belt(that's why I have it b/c it deleted the spots for PS/AC.

Oh yeah I know if I bore it out I'll need new pistons/rods. Well I think my decision may be made for the USDM ITRs-I'll check how much they cost compared to the B16s.

Thanks man

just get some .25 oversized itr or ctr pistons to give your car a fresh bore and hone...msd ignition isn't bad but its not necesarry w/ your setup...and if its a daily driver i'd keep the ps/ac....its worth keepin...

I have a 92 CX it didn't come with either PS or AC. So I've never had the joy of having either. I was thinking of adding A/C but I have no clue how hard that would be but it just seems like crazy work. I'll probably never do it or get a lot of friends to help me do it.

Get the stock GSR TB bored out because it's only around $100 compared to $200+ for an ITR TB. Your getting plenty of spark with new spark plugs, the ignition would be a waste of money at this point. Apex exhausts are 60mm for hondas, with almost no exceptions

I already have the MSD ignition and the Apexi N1 exhaust. Where can I find a bored out GSR throttle body or where can I get someone to bore out the one I have.

Nice setup man. Hopefully mine will do like yours or even better because I'm going to up the compression and I have cam gears.
