When im driving around and my foot is either lightly on the pedal, or not on the pedal i hear this high pitched whistling kinda noise that i think is coming from my intake, do any off u guys possibly know what it could be??? i dont think its any thing too bad, but its just bugging me, thanx

 

just your aftermarket filter sucking in air...

 

do you have an intake manifold or intake? if the sizes are mismatched, or something like that, the disturbance of air flow across the difference causes the whistling, I hear if you get them matched up, it will stop it.

i heard that noise on alot of cars with cai so im guess its normal

 

maybe you need to tighten your claps or something is loose.

Mine does the same thing. It can get annoying though.

I used to have a whistling aem short ram. After I swapped it out with a comptech icebox no more whistle

 

whistle is perfectly normal

Its a normal sound, its just your intake taking in air.

 

i have a home made 3" intake with a K&N filter, mine does the same thing, i thinks its b/c of the "shielding" thats on the filter, and i think its b/c of a couple folds getting bent. i don't really know, just a thought

 

My AEM cai does the same $h!t. No worries.

 

same whistle, only after i tossed on aem cai, not with short

 

Its normal, mine does it too.

 

its actually the air flowing past the valve on the throttle body..certain intakes just amplify the sound. it happens on alot of cars especially 5.0 mustangs and Honda motors.

 

its because of the filter they use, i switched to an HKS filter and you cant really hear it anymore. but its funny because some people think my car is turboed

 

some people actually by intakes for that sound

My aem short ram does the same exact thing. I actually think it sounds pretty tight AEM filters are known for the whistling.
