HELP!!! Car Pop and Gargles when Slowing down
hey guys, I did a search on rough idles and exhaust popping, about 92 results, after an hour of searching, I can't find out why exhaust pipping "gargles" or like a slight popping when I am decelerating, it has never done that, and the car has quite a rough idle, I just did some head work on it, but COULD IT BE THE SPARKPLUG?WIRES?
The rough idling might be from the head work, and the exhaust popping might be from your cat being clogged (at least whats wrong with mine). So buy a new cat. if thats it. HTH
Edit: What exactly did you mean by rough idling btw? Did you mean it jumps, its to high, or what exactly? But i have heard when you do head work the idling is all fucked unless you get it tuned, so that could be your problem.

a car with a bad exhaust or a more free flowing/straight piped exhaust will pop and spatter when engine braking.
Don't ask exactly why....but when the throttle is closed and the revs are high, it just does this

That makes sense. I just started putting in 93 octane in my car and thats when it started doing it, could this be the cause as well?
