Default d16 turbo fuel management

what kind fuel managements you have?
I'll go no more than 10psi for awhile so I am thinking about one of 3 options.

1. chipped ecu
2. greddy blue box and call a day.
3. avfc

I think i'll go with chipped ecu option. how about you? if you got chipped ecu, what kind chip did you use? I can't afford hondata now.

I say go with the VAFC. Don't mess around with the E-manage or the Blue box. I see you are in Raleigh...so check my sig, and if you need anymore turbo help let me know!!

Don't know enough about it to offer a reasonable opinion. I know that tuning it is not going to be nearly as accessable as with a VAFC or similar.

yeah, or the rough *** idle while you're dumping too much fuel at idle from going off someone's else's settings

blue box is fool proof basically and cheap as hell used.

the best is of course hondata and unless you were meaning to say "hondata" when you said chipped ecu then you do NOT want to get one of those stupid performance chips to use as fuel management as you will be running horribly with it, if not so lean that you actually melt something....

Hondata is your best bet...but if you want a cheap alternative...you can go with a Vortech FMU($120)...course they aren't the greatest but it gets the job done. I'm goin with a FMU at first just to get the car goin, but I plan to upgrade to a Hondata later.

eh i rather go with a vafc, dsm 450's and a intank pump. all u have to do when u going hondata is sell the vafc and then u'd already have ur injectors and pump to support good power

arent those injectors a little over kill for the size of the turbo and the amount of boost? just a thought.

oh yeah of course...too bad most people aren't that smart...not to mention most shops around my area will NOT tune a v-afc...only a stand alone...such as hondata...which is why I say...yet again....have fun dumping fuel while you figure out the quirks of the box without hopefully leaning out too much and melting a piston or richening out bling bling style and fouling all your plugs like hell's gate relentlessly....

but to each their own yo! bling blang!!!

nope... ran it for about 6 months like that fine and it was tuned to about a 12:1 a/f ratio almost FLAT a/f curve. was tuned @ 5psi and the tune was consistent all the way to 10psi

yah well that's another requirement of choosing a tuning solution... go with what ur tuner knows. my tuner did afc hacks as well as hondata so i had the hack for a whiel then when hondata both were great
