Smitdog and mstewar's #55 odyssey (56K)
Well, as some people may know or have guessed, I recently made a new purchase.. Once #106 was taken from me in August, I bought a truck, sold my hatchback, and started looking for an R chassis.. I was contacted by the person who purchased #55, wrecked, from Ausmith and I went forward with the purchase from them. They had the car repaired from when Ausmith's dad put it in the dirt this past spring, and the body shop did an EXCELLENT job.. Almost no sign it was hit in the front ever..
As you'll see in the pics, and some of you probably guessed from my previous post on 5 vs 4 lug, it currently has a Civic suspension/brakes on it, and is lacking a motor and ITR seats.. No biggie to me though. I'm building a road race car out of it..
Smitdog and I left at 6:45am from my house in MD, to go to just outside NYC, in NJ, to get the car. Got back to MD at about 4pm.. See pics below for the fun stuff..

smitdog and mstewar, back at my house, salute!
the TRRRRRRRRRD tow beast
shots at my house, unloading #55
extra goodies
where'd it go!?
oh, it's safe in the garage.. hehe..
smitdog, TrUsT, lil swole, and johnnyspecv.. all helped unload and push the car in the garage.. thanks guys!
well, with this post, i'm officially back as an R owner.. and hopefully will be seeing everyone at a road course nearby, in the spring when it's done!
It's taken a few weeks to get everything straight and get the car back here.. Thanks to Steve for rolling with to go get it, and to D, Adam and John for helping unload and push it up my steep driveway. And to the seller of the car, not sure if he wants his name put up..
edit: did a little license plate hiding..

Looks like it's gonna be a fun project
Nice truck too, how'd it do towing the car? I've been considering a V6 Tacoma as a daily driver/tow vehicle (if I ever start towing the car).

We made great time considering we had a empty trailer that weighed 2000lbs. I think Marks Tocoma pulled the Load judt fine.

A 22' trailer and the widest you can go without a permit was interesting around NYC....
Mark had it all under control.

thanks for the well wishes, everybody!
it looks like we-todd-did is down right now, so the pics aren't showing up.. they're worth a look though.. Smitdog definitely got a nice NYC skyline shot while on the highway..
the tacoma did fine towing.. the trailer weighed about 2000lbs, with a an R with full interior, but lighter suspension and no motor on the back on top of that.. it was a little bouncy on the way up without the full load, but not much bouncing on the way back.. it definitely needed a little downshifting help on some of the steeper inclines, but overall pulled with no real problems.. we were able to move with traffic, at or slightly above the speed limit most of the way(except construction zones, rough highway). I'm VERY happy with my tacoma after this trip, but I'm considering a transmission cooler for the warmer months of the year, to help ease the stress on it.. definitely gets a

I'm glad the car went to a guy who I know will take care of it. I truly wish I could have pursued the project. As Clayton was very helpful to me I hope I was as well.
It was tough getting some of the logistics worked out but things finally fell into place. Trailors can definitely be a bitch.
Steve, Derek, it was good meeting you guys as well.
