Default Help! CRX with b16a very bad cold start in the mourning!

Hey guys,
Recently i swapped a b16a into my 1990 CRX si, and it's running kind of funny. For example:
1. It has a rough idle, my idle is set to 1100-1300rpm
2. The other day it took me 2 min. and 30 sec. to start the car, yes i timed it.
-It turns over but just wont fire up right away (almost as if the timming were
advanced).
3. Also, very rarely while i'm driving in top gear on the parkway or wherever, it'll
miss-fire (not this happens very rarely)
4. My engine is giving off a random code (telling me i have a v6 throtle body
problem... my shop said when the ECU throws off a code like that, just ignore
it!)
5. The motor is running off a OBD-0 ECU... The motor will also not REV past
7200rpms.

1. Idle should be set to 750 +- rpm. Check your IACV, 02 sensor, Coolant temp sensor and see if they're bad.
2. Sounds like you have a fuel pressure problem. Try priming the pump (by turning the key to the on position a few times before starting it.
3. Do an ignition tuneup - wires, plugs, cap and rotor
4. WTF? Get the code figured out: http://www.geocities.com/chipman_13/ecu.html Your shop is full of ****. Get the code checked out.
5. The code is putting your car into limp (safe) mode - thus, something important on your motor is fucked up. Won't know until you get the code for us.

Stop reving the **** out of your car when it's broken! (The code means that there IS a problem). It's not good for the engine!

I am not sure about the other stuff but you might want to check the o2 sensors for the misfireing. Unplug the o2s then go for a ride if it goes away then there is your problem if it still does then you have a different problem.

Mr. S,
Thanks for the advice, i couldn't tell you more how much i appreciate the help you guys can provide me with. Anyhow, i took a look at the codes my ECU is throwing off... Although i'm not sure if i'm reading the ECU correctly. At the begining of the sequence my ECU; Blinked one long... Then 1 again.... Then 4... Then 6... Then 7... and Then 9. I'm not too sure what to make of that. Any thoughts... Please respond!

No problem, that's what we're here for. Try this instead: http://quickhonda.net/index2.htm go to "garage" and click "ecu codes"

Doesn't sound like you're reading the code right; you're getting 1 long blink, then 9 short blinks? Is this correct? If so, sounds like an auto ecu, maybe. Or maybe you're getting like 4 codes. Code 1 should be the 02 sensor... check the list to see what the others are.

I alos forget to mention that you should check the cam timing. Did you install a new timing belt? Maybe you installed it one tooth off.
