hey whats up guys....i just bought my 91 crx dx about 3 weeks ago, and ive noticed that when i try to downshift to like 3rd from 4th, it wont go into gear until i slow down to a certain speed....now, i dont know if its supposed to do this, but i dont like it.....oh yeah, and its not only from 4th to 3rd...its every gear...

 

your redlining it huh? try not t redline too far, because i know my gear will reject the shift in a sort if i do, try shifting earlier.

 

try adjusting the cluth cable... does it grind?

 

Welcome to driving a standard

You can change the tranny fluid and it will smooth up the downshifts. It's the syncros slowing down your downshifs. They are having to match tranny speed with the engine speed. Double clutch if you want to bypass the syncros.

 

yeah...ocassionaly it will grind if i try downshiftin....but i dont think it does it every time...it just feels like its hitting a "wall"...not litterally though...

 

i think your trying to downshift at too high of an rpm

 

its a lockout in the tranny its a safety thing try double clutching it

 

try a different driving style..no need to do alot of dshifting unless your on a race track
