Default ITR Pistons

I'm installing ITR pistons in b18b. Do you have to modify the head in any way. I use the LS rods right?

valves will not hit........you have to modify the rods to fit those pistons.

why not just get a set of B16 pistons. they fit with no modifications, give you a little more compression and you still wont have to worry about piston to valve clearence........

The valves will not hit the pistons, especially when using VTEC pistons. If you look at any CTR/ITR/SiR/GSR piston, the valve relief is much deeper than that of a LS/B20 piston. That's why you see clearance problems with LS/VTEC or B20-VTEC motors, using the stock pistons, and high profile cams (or Type R cams with the cam timing advanced too much). Then the valves hit the pistons and it's a loud, obnoxious noise. But with the VTEC piston, you won't run into any of those problems as the valve relief is deeper on the VTEC piston, allowing for more clearance for the valves to open up more.

tell your friend to educate himself before giving
the wrong advise..

ITR are just fine just find out a machine shop that has done this
before and while you at it shot peened your rods and change bearings.
